I live in regional New South Wales, Australia with my two highly energetic sons and a husband I don't deserve (in a good way).
I've been an avid romance reader for years, falling in love with fictional hero's left, right and center. It wasn't until early 2011 that I decided to add to my pastime of reading and reviewing and take my own writing seriously.
The hunky men and sassy women who dominate my daydreams are now being put to paper.
Welcome to The Petting Zoo. I’m a huge animal lover, so I’ll be asking you about the pets in your life as well as some fictional animals that have captured a special place in your heart. But first, I’d love to hear more about what you’re up to with your writing.
Your Reckless Beat series has been very popular and was my first introduction in Rock Star romance. Can you tell us a little about your series and why you love writing about sexy rock stars?
Since the concept of writing first entered my mind, rock stars have been at the top of my wish list. I was itching to write about these men but when I first started I knew I needed more experience behind me. So I wrote Concealed Desire, then Sneaking a Peek and Phantom Pleasure. By that time I was dying to get started…and so Reckless Beat was born.
Argh! Don’t do that to me, Lauren. It’s too hard. Each book makes me fall in love with the character I’m writing about. Each and every time I think that I can’t love a character more and then the next guy blows me away. I never thought Sean would completely steal my heart. Mean, I know. But now that I’m writing him, I’m head over heels. I’m entirely love struck. And I assume this process will continue with every novel I write.
What are you working on at the moment and do you have any new books coming out soon?
My latest release was Undesired Lust, book 3 in the Reckless Beat series (and a standalone). It entered the world on the 21st of November. Check out all the information here – http://www.edensummers.com/undesired-lust.html
Barnes & Noble
It’s the first short novel in the Vault of Sin series which I’m publishing through Samhain. This one is a little bit kinky and based in a sex club. Leo and Shay were the small break I needed when Mason and Sidney from Undesired Lust were killing me.
And while I still have the Reckless Beat mojo hanging around, I’m frantically working on the 4th novel in the series—Sultry Groove. This one is a whole heap of fun with the heartbroken drummer and a choreographer getting their dance on both vertically and horizontally…if you get my drift ;)

I don’t think I have a favourite. I love most animals—cows, horses, pigs, cats, dogs, birds.
As pets, I’ve had rabbits, a heap of dogs, cats, a few lambs, a cockatoo, chickens that lasted a few days until the dogs ate them, and we’ve babysat a lizard too.
I’m that crazy person that goes to the zoo and stares at an animal trying to make some weird type of mental connection. I just love animals.
Do you have any furry friends or cuddly critters in your life at the moment, or if not are there any special pets in your past?
Doug and I have a hate-hate relationship but it’s all pretend. We love to fake a severe case of loathing toward each other, but realistically, as soon as everyone leaves the house Doug is by my side and doesn’t leave until someone comes home and catches him. He’s a big ol’ grump, and I do pretend that I don’t love his little grumpy ass, but deep down I’m going to miss the hell out of him when he’s gone.
Can you think of any memorable books or movies where an animal has stolen the limelight and your heart?
I’m going to be a complete loser and toot my own story horn. In my most recent release, Undesired Lust, Mason’s two black Labrador dogs play an integral role. They own Mason’s heart and drag him to hell and back in this story.
Researching pet issues was also a very nasty task. Google is not always an author’s best friend.
Which animal are you most afraid of?
Snakes. And if insects are on the list, MOTHS. I hate those things. Just ask my hubby. I will scream if one nose-dives for me. Gah! *shivers* When I was a kid, I remember pulling on my winter flannos and feeling something tickling my leg. I screamed the house down not knowing what it was and found a moth flittering around in my pants.
If you could be any animal, what would it be, and why?
Maybe an eagle…It’s weird really, seeing as though I’m scared to death of heights, but soaring through the air, free, without a care would be an awesome feeling.
